Happy (inter)National Scrapbooking Day!

May 5, 2007

Of all the days of the year, this is probably Scrapbooker’s favorite day! Sales like no one’s business, where ever you go, and the freebies too!

—————————————————————————>
First off, the Queen of the Crop layouts were posted today for voting. And the goodie bag you get for voting is worth about $15 bucks, not $2, so if you had any hesitation about spending a couple bucks on a vote, don’t worry about it!

Here’s my layout. If you click the link, it will take you to the layout at SBG, where you can vote for me (for $2) and get the goodie bag. Take a look at the journaling and credits at SBG also.

I wish I could show you week 2’s layout now, I LOVE it, and I just know you will too!

I did a fair bit of supply gathering today too! Here’s some gorgeous deals I found.

First I stopped at Shabby Miss Jenn’s shop. She had an awesome deal on this gorgeous kit, 1 day only $1, and all the elements were $1 too! And I picked up one of her smaller kits too.

Then I stopped by Gina’s place to pick up her Oil Painted papers I’ve been wanting for a while, and I couldn’t pass up more buttons either.

Then I headed to the threads at DST where everyone was showing off their favorite buys, I saw these papers from Corina Nielson at FPD and couldn’t pass them up.

Then I topped off my day picking up the charity kit at Songbird Ave. and hungting for freebies. It was lots of fun, but I think I’m done for quite a while! I really need to use some of this stuff!

Finally, I did a layout that I uploaded Thursday. Kim Jensen released these great Acid Wash Extreme Fringe elements at Scrapdish and I thought they worked great with Jessica’s Home Life kit. I also used a template by Tracy B. Love working with all my favorite ladies stuff! Link takes you to my gallery at DST.

Other than that I’ve had another busy week, had a travel day on Friday, and I’m leaving for a conference I’ve been planning next week. I can not wait until this conference is done, it’s been really hard to pull off. It’s been even harder knowing that it might not make any difference how hard I work. They “should” be making the final decisions next week about who is going to stay on the three grants that don’t end until Sept. 30. It would be great if it was me, but I’m trying not to get my hopes up. Still no job offers, or new interviews. Uggg, work!

I think JT is fighting some kind of cold, he’s been really cranky and hard to deal with all week. He fell asleep early on Thursday night, which he never does. Joel kept him home on Friday too.

Well, I better get to work on a layout, I’m feeling the need to scrap. Can’t wait to see what everyone else bought too!

I’m such a disgrace to all digi scrappers everywhere…I totally forgot about this important day! Such a bummer…I actually had money and could have picked up some stuff but now the money is gone. Argh! Love your layout for Queen of the Crop. Hope JT is feeling better and I REALLY hope that you are included in those final decisions so you won’t have to worry about finding another job right now. I’ve got my fingers crossed for ya!
