Internet Blues and stuff

December 18, 2006

So my internet connection is about to drive me batty! It will stay on for very short periods of time and then just, nada. My computer says it’s still connected, my browser looks and looks for the connection, and still, nada. The same thing his happening to my dh on his PC, so it’s not my poor Mac that is having the trouble.

I called my ISP today and they said there are no service problems in my area and that it must be a problem with our wireless network thingy. Well, then why do both me and dh’s computers say it’s connected to the wireless network thingy, but nothing is coming through?

So here I sit at work, on my lunch break, quickly writing some words so that people know that I’ve tried to email everyone back at least once or twice, but before I even hit reply, my connection goes again. I have about 7 or 8 saved drafts in my email right now. Uggh.

Other than that, JT spent the weekend at Joel’s parents again, Joel and I went to the movies on Friday night and saw Casino Royal. Ummm, the new James Bond, just plain yummie, and so dark too, just my kinda Bond. Went shopping both Saturday and Sunday with Mom, who thinks I’m a big bah-humbug-grinch, and finished up all the presents I need for this Wednesday night.

JT and I will be flying to Colorado to spend Christmas with my Dad, brother and my huge extended family there, we leave this friday. I’m so excited! We haven’t been back to CO since JT was 1! It’s been too too long. Unfortunately Joel can’t join us, he is of course, working. So, we’re celebrating Christmas with Joel, my Mom, Sister and my sister’s boyfriend on Wednesday night. I feel badly about leaving Joel behind, but this Daddy’s Girl wasn’t about to miss one more Christmas at her Dad’s!

Speaking of Joel and his work, he got a sales position at his former company. He used to be a central office supervisor for an alarm installation and monitoring company, now he’ll be in their sales office. Here’s the really amazing part, he’ll be working 8-5, M-F. I was trying to figure out the last time Joel had evenings and weekends off, and it was the few months after he returned from cruise while he was in the Navy, 7 years ago. Things are going to drastically change in this family, right now I don’t know how, but I’m excited. The thought of having him home for dinner every night and home on the weekends is just so overwhelming! It’s like we can finally be a real family, you know the kind that actually spend some time together? I’m a little nervous, how is this going to cut into my scrapbooking time? I know he’s planning on a guys night out on Wednesdays, and hopefully he’ll respect some time for me. I plan on joining Weight Watchers and getting in a good hour of treadmill time a day. So much to look forward to and do! He came home last night at 5:30 and we were laughing at 8:30 when we realized we were both bored and this was what it was going to be like very soon. Shit, I might even be able to hang out with some people once in a while, my IRL life friends gave up on inviting me anywhere about 3 years ago, since I never could join them without JT. I might have to join a mother’s group or something, ykes, the possibilities are endless, more activities for JT, better healthy-sit-at-the-table dinners, weekend outings. Wow, wow, wow.

Well, I should get back to work!

Internet troubles are never fun. I have to say one thing about my dial-up, and that is that it is very reliable. I sure wish it would go a bit faster though LOL!

I’m glad Joel will be getting a more regular hour job- that will be great! Too much time together can be a problem though πŸ˜‰ Mark is off work using vacation time for 3 weeks, and it always drives me a bit nuts to have him and all of the kids underfoot all of the time and not have any space. I hope you can both work out some time to yourselves!
